Lighthouses Don’t Go Running All Over An Island…

Thank you if you still follow this calm site that has recently turned really quiet. Sorry about that, I have a new job and in my free time I am trying to multi-task, unfortunately this is not a good tactics when you want to keep up with regular blogging. But I still have some links with tributes to Chris Cornell and some unpublished material in the Drafts section so please, stay with me.

Meanwhile, this beautiful picture of West Point Light made me think of the quote I once read

My dear,

Here’s the thing about teaching people; you can’t teach them if they don’t want to learn. And most don’t want to learn.

That’s why all you can do is live your life to the best of your ability and let it shine like a beacon for others to follow. If they want to learn they’ll come to you. And when they do, that’s when you try to teach them something.

Lighthouses don’t go running all over an island looking for boats to save; they just stand there shining.

Falsely yours,
Anne Lamott
